Tay" của nghệ sĩ trẻ Moe Satt từ Myanmar. Vào lúc 6:00 tối ngày

Myanmar được biết đến là một thuộc địa cũ của Anh, với
kiến trúc hoang sơ quyến rũ, với nền Phật giáo thâm thúy và một nền
chính trị điên rồ đầy áp lực. Moe Satt là một trong số ít những nghệ sĩ
làm nghệ thuật thực nghiệm tiên phong của đất nước kì diệu này. Anh là
người tổ chức, và cũng là giám đốc nghệ thuật của chương trình BEYOND
PRESSURE ( VƯỢT QUA ÁP LỰC ) - liên hoan nghệ thuật trình diễn quốc tế
thường niên, đồng thời cũng là tên một nhóm nghệ sĩ trình diễn và làm
việc cũng nhau tại Yangon, Myanmar.
Trong quá trình ở tại Hà
Nội và làm việc trong 1 tháng, Moe Satt ghi lại hình ảnh cử động của
bàn tay lao động từ những người anh gặp trên phố, ngoài chợ hay bạn bè
xung quanh. Anh nói "Khi tôi còn nhỏ, mẹ tôi nói đôi tay của con dài hơn
những người khác. Chúng giống như đôi tay của một nghệ sĩ. Tôi tự nhủ
rằng khi trưởng thành mình sẽ trở thành một nghệ sĩ. Tôi hay nhìn vào
đôi tay mình khi chúng chuyển động hay làm việc. Thực hành các động tác
tay, hay sáng tác nghệ thuật khơi gợi lại tuổi thơ và kỉ niệm trong
tôi."
Từ năm 2005 đến bây nay, các tác phẩm của Moe Satt
thường liên quan đến đôi tay. Anh luôn suy nghĩ bàn tay người ta có thế
làm ra được bao nhiêu hình dáng khác nhau, những kí hiệu A-OK, kí hiệu
Gang sign, kí hiệu F-sign, tạo hình bằng bóng...
Trong buổi khai mạc, anh làm một tác phẩm trình diễn cùng 2 nghệ sĩ Việt Nam là Trần Lâm Bình và Hoàng Minh Đức.

chức festival BEYOND PRESSURE tại Nhasan vào lúc 5:00 chiều, ngày

cordially invites you to the opening of a Vietnam - Myanmar cultural
exchange exhibition by Myanmarese artist Moe Satt, entitled 'Hands
Oxide'. The opening reception is on 22 Apr, 6 pm
Myanmar is a
country of exceptionally diverse populations, politics and cultures. Not
only is it heavily influenced by Buddhism and other religious aspects
from neighboring countries, the country’s currently fragile and extreme
social, cultural and political state has also been shaped by British
colonial rules and westernization.
Moe Satt is considered one of
the leading artists of the experimental art scene in Myanmar. He is the
founder and artistic director of BEYOND PRESSURE - an independent
artist-run initiative based in Yangon who hosts an international
performance art festival of the same name in Myanmar every year.
During
his 1-month stay in Hanoi, Moe Satt has recorded the hand movements of
people around him, from laborers working on the streets, in markets to
local artists and his friends. He explains, "When I was little, my
mother told me that I have hands longer than everyone else. Like those
of an artist. From then I kept telling myself that I would be an artist
when I grew up. I tend to look at my hands as they move, especially when
I make art and perform with them. It reminds me of my childhood
memories".
From 2005 up until now, Moe Satt has been making
works related to hands, hand movements and gestures. For him, hand
gestures and sign language is an essential means of communicating with
others.
On the opening night, he will perform with two Vietnamese artists Tran Lam Binh and Hoang Minh Duc.
An artist talk with Moe Satt will be held on 25 Apr at 5 pm at Nhasan Studio.
